Evaluation of effect of long work hours on incident diabetes in 7065 Ontario workers followed for 12 years revealed that working 45 hours or more per week was associated with an increased incidence of diabetes among women, but not men. The study was published online July 2, 2018 in BMJ Open Diabetes Research and Care. Long work hours may be a modifiable risk factor for diabetes prevention.
